Theresa A. Casares

Posted

On September 21, 2021, Theresa A. Casares passed away peacefully surrounded by all those who loved her at the age of 75. Theresa was born on January 28, 1946 in Gonzales, Texas, to Isabel Valle and Epolitio Arriola. Theresa was 1 of 15 siblings and was seen as the matriarch of the family.

She was educated in Gonzales and worked as a dietary aide at Memorial Hospital for over 25 years. She and her husband then retired and moved to Shiner for some country life. Upon moving to Shiner Theresa got her second wind and began her own business of housekeeping services. Her services were so well sought out she had a waiting list! Theresa enjoyed many things in life including gardening, cooking, garage sales, and faithfully attended Saint Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. Her most memorable time was spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved to watch play football, basketball, soccer, or whatever they were involved in she was there. Theresa was always happy and smiling; a spunky little lady, a little fire cracker that never sat down. Theresa will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Carrying Theresa home will be her loving nephews Cirilo Rodriguez (CD), Johnny Burton, Gerald Burton, Daniel Burton, Bobby Burton, and Rudy Hidalgo. Honorary pallbearers are all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Amelia Gonzales, Severa Cuellar, Rosa Sepulveda, and Santos Valle; Daughter, Rosa Rodriguez; grandchildren, Courtney and Nolan.
