Pomposo Ramos, Jr., 73, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023. He was born February 6, 1950 in Gonzales to Pomposo Ramos, Sr and Vincenta Guevara Ramos. He was a member of the Two Rivers Church.

Pomposo was raised in Gonzales. He worked in the fields with his dad at an early age to help support the family. He followed his dad to Marrou and Co. continuing to work by his side. He later broke horses for local ranchers. Pomposo dearly loved to ride deep into the pastures and when the occasion presented itself,  he would sneak away to fish, his favorite pastime. He paid his dues in the oil fields and made a comfortable living, the work was hard, just the way he liked it.

Pomposo never met a stranger. He loved people and more importantly his family. He adored his children, grandchildren, and siblings. He cherished family barbeques where all would gather for a good time. He lived his life out loud; he loved a good drink and loud music. He raised his family to be strong and love life. It was important to him that his children knew when it was time to be a man and to always be responsible citizens. He deeply loved his family, and he was very proud of them. He often read his bible and would go to the Lord in prayer in humble gratitude for all that had been bestowed upon him.

Pomposo is survived by his loving family, his daughters Stephanie Ann Ramos, Christina Marie Cordova, his son Ronald Lee “Stoney” Ramos (Heather) all of Gonzales. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kyle Gunn, Alexandria Martinez (Tony), James Garcia (Misty), Bryanna Iakopo, Mattilene Ramos, Colbey Ramos, Stoney Ramos, Michael Iakopo and Bastian Cordova, his sisters, Annie Tieken, Mary Schwausch, Yolanda Crabtree (Jeff), Frances Anderson, Trina Magallanes (Manuel), Teresa Magallanes (Daniel) and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Milani Iakopo, brothers, Lico and Jacob Ramos, sisters, Virginia, Bertha, Janie, and Marcella Ramos.
