Arthur Ray “Art” Caraway

Arthur Ray “Art” Caraway, 70, of Gonzales, passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015. He was born July 13, 1945 in New Braunfels, the son of Arthur B. and Willie Ray Malone Caraway. 

Art graduated from the Houston Barber College and obtained his barber license in 1964 and worked in League City, Charlotte, N.C. and later in San Antonio. He became a licensed minister and worked with the Salvation Army in Tampa, Fla. and later in Austin. He enjoyed studying the Bible and computers. 

He is survived by his mother, Willie Ray Caraway of Gonzales; daughters, Kristie Michelle Caraway of Seguin, Misty Dawn Caraway of San Antonio and Cheryl Lynn Steager of Seguin; son, Linden Brice Caraway of Seguin; and sister, Linda James and husband Rick of Clarksville, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his father and his wife, Brenda Kay Caraway. 

Graveside services were held Tuesday, Sept. 29 at the Ebenezer Cemetery. Memorials in his name may be made to the Salvation Army. Arrangements under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home 906 St. Paul Street, Gonzales.
