Will Sievers

Will Sievers, 76, died in the early morning of Wednesday, May 24th, 2023, at Seton Northwest Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife and daughter. He was born on April 19, 1947 in Gonzales County, Texas to Melvin and Melva (Beeson) Sievers. 

Will, better known to those growing up as Andy, graduated from Gonzales High School in 1965. Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Navy on the USS Intrepid during the Vietnam War. 1n 1970 he married Ludonna Baron and became the proud father to William Aaron Sievers on June 28, 1973. Andy and Ludonna divorced in 1982. He then joined the Austin Police Department in 1986 as well as continuing to serve his country in the Army National Guard. Patrolling the City of Austin led him to meet his love and wife of 35 years Amy Veron Hasbrouck. They married on August 9, 1987 at Camp Mabry. As he brought his son Aaron Sievers, Amy brought her daughter Cate Robinson and they became a family of four. He spent many years serving his country and retired from both the Austin Police Department and the United States Army National Reserve. Will spent much of his spare time and retirement building with cement and rocks in nature, as well as showing his true artistry through his carvings.

In addition to his parents, Will is also predeceased by his half-brother Bobby Rentz. Surviving in addition to his wife Amy (Hasbrouck) Sievers, are his son, William Aaron Sievers “Aaron” (Loretta) of Birmingham, Alabama; daughter Catherine June Robinson “Cate” (Robin) of Austin, Texas; two granddaughters, Addison June Tenney “Addie” and Piper Louise Tenney of Austin, Texas; sister Fern Sievers Rajnoch (James) of Lockhart, Texas; brother Mark Sievers (Kathy) of Bertram, Texas; half siblings Johnny Rentz of La Porte, Texas, Barry Tate (Patty) of Virginia, Tammy Arnold of Victoria, Texas, and Kenneth Allen Tate of Victoria, Texas; as well as his close cousin Dr. Lee Roy Rice Jr. (Marie) of Burnet, Texas, and several other cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Two services will be held in remembrance. The first service will be held on July 1st, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Monthalia United Methodist Church, 1926 County Road 112, Cost, Texas. He will receive Austin Police Department Honors at this service. Those unable to attend this service can view it through Zoom.

Final Interment services will be held on Friday, July 7th, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in Shelter 3, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas. He will receive full military honors.
