Norma Jean Lott

Norma Jean Lott, 90, of Leesville, passed away May 5, 2015 in Seguin. She was born Dec. 6, 1924 in Sapulpa, Okla. to Clyde Ernest Milam and Ethel Irene Hobson Milam. 

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 55 years, Linnie Odell Lott, Jr.; son, Douglas Odell Lott; and a granddaughter, Codie D’Lynn Erxleben. 

She is survived by her children, Brian Lott and wife Linda of Jonestown, Linda Lee and husband Ronnie of Pasadena, Beverly Goudeau and husband Bubba of Hungerford, Jerry Lott and wife Rebecca of Algonquin, Ill., Irene Erxleben of Leesville; and daughter-in-law, Connie Lott of Leesville. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Janice, Karen, Steven, Alan, Matt, Shana, Jake, Anson, Tyler, Mason, Bryson, Whitney and Trent; 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, Robert “Buck” Milam and wife Mattie of Oceanside, Calif. and their children Darlene and Curtis and other loving family and friends.

Jean will be long remembered by her family and friends for her loving and humble spirit. She has been the heart and the strength of the Lott family for 70 years and will be greatly missed by all. She raised her family of six children with a mother’s love, and taught each of us how to be a better person and friend. She served faithfully in the Presbyterian Ladies Circle, was a member of the Happy Quilters of Leesville for many years and served as treasurer of the Leesville Cemetery Association, retiring at the age of 88 due to failing eyesight.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon. The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 9 at 10 a.m. at Finch Chapel with the Rev. Carl McCauley officiating. Burial will follow at the Leesville Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Leesville Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 256, Leesville, Texas 78122.
