Rusted Gingham makes plans for 16th annual Barn Sale

Posted

Rusted Gingham is once again excited to be hosting the 16th annual Barn Sale at JB Wells Park in Gonzales, Texas. Make plans to be in the barn Friday, Nov. 3, from 4 p.m. to 9: p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 4, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The famous orange truck will be ready to greet you at the entrance to the barn!

This annual gathering of talented artists is a great community event and a time to let Gonzales shine! Vendors from across the state will be setting up to show and sell their vintage, antique, unique, handmade, upcycled and otherwise-made goods.

Live music by Brandi Behlen and Dawson DeBord will fill the air Friday night and Saturday patrons will be treated to the voices of Christian Cook and B&B Band, who will be taking the mic Saturday from 9:30 a.m.and noon, respectively.

Eye catching displays will draw you into each booth — take a thought to buying local and from small businesses this holiday season. These vendors work hard to find, fix, create and curate fabulous displays for you to shop from.

Vintage, antique and salvaged repurposed items are keeping things from landfills and often find new lives in modern homes. Barn Sale vendors take pride in their work and bring their best to the barn! Small businesses and local ‘Mom and Pop’ stores are the ones keeping communities going by supporting and sponsoring local organizations, scholarships, youth sports leagues, stock show sales and the list goes on and on. Artisans such as the ones under the barn survive by shoppers coming and supporting them at markets like the Barn Sale.

The Barn Sale has been recognized in Flea Market Style Magazine as one of the top 50 Barn Sales in the nation. That recognition confirms what vendors and shoppers say about the sale: they look forward to it every year! The majority of the vendors have participated in prior sales and love coming back to the barn year after year. A selection of vendors are new to the barn this year. Rusted Gingham works hard to curate a great mixture for shoppers of all kinds to enjoy their time in the barn.

Several food options are available, ranging from tamales and chili by the local Gonzales County A&M Club, the infamous Royer’s Pie Haven sweet pies, brownies, snack mixes, popcorn, toffee, spiced nuts and more. Various drink options to warm you up or cool you down will be available as well.

Many shoppers come with a list in-hand, whether for Christmas, birthdays, graduations, weddings, showers or yourself as the variety in the barn has something for just about everyone! Rusted Gingham is encouraging everyone to shop small and support families involved in small businesses. Maybe don’t spend so much at big box stores or online shopping from out of the country, let’s help keep small business strong in our state!

Admission for the Barn Sale is $5 for anyone 13 and up; under 12 and 85 and over are free. Parking is free. Bring your big rig — you’re going to need it for all your fabulous finds! No pets allowed, the barn is just for people at this event as animals are a safety concern for all ages. We hope to see you at the barn!
