Lillie Lea Lay

Lillie Lea Lay, 90, of Leesville, passed away April 4, 2015 in Gonzales. She was born Jan. 5, 1925 in Gonzales County to Thomas Garland Ellis and Matilda Augusta (Weber) Ellis.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Millard Stewart; her second husband, Arnold W. Lay; son, Richard Stewart; brother, Thomas Garland Ellis Jr.; sisters,  Anna Mae McMeans and Pansy Robinson; and two grandsons. Lillie is survived by her son, Willard Stewart and wife Patty of Gonzales; grandsons, Brock Stewart and wife January and Brady Stewart and wife Jennifer; great-granddaughters,  Ashlynn Stewart, Abigail Stewart and Emma Stewart; great-grandsons,  Lane Stewart and Cashus Goette; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.   

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 8 at 3 p.m. at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon with visitation held one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Jack Shuford will officiate. 

Burial will follow at the Bundick Cemetery in Smiley. Pallbearers are Matt Gray, J.D. Gray, David Stewart, Darrell Stewart, Kenneth Stewart and Leslie Patteson. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Terry Eska and the staff and residents of the Romberg House.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Leesville Baptist Church, P.O.
