Final Float Fest preparations under way

Less than a week away, the final preparations for the 2022 Float Fest, set in Gonzales, are under way.

Headliners Marshmello, Vampire Weekend, Cage the Elephant, Chance the Rapper, Deadmau5 and more will take the stage July 22-23.

The festival will be held on a 765-acre private ranch in Gonzales located at 1 County Road 197 and according to officials, the location is “three times” the size of previous Float Fest festival sites.

Owner Marcus Federman has been working hard, getting the tubing and music festival set after it had been on hiatus due to COVID-19.

Federman has been in close contact with the county, including local law enforcement, EMS and Gonzales County Judge Pat Davis, to make sure it’s a safe experience for concert goers.

He stated the “communication” between all the county officials and law enforcement has been “very great” leading into the final week before the event.

Float Fest is the only festival that has both people enjoying music, camping and tube floating in one location.

Organizers said festival goers will have “special amenities” at the event, including an onsite general store that will have items guests may need.

Federman said the store will have accessories for tubing needs, includes cell phone protection cases, and he added there will be a “draft beer bar” near the entry point to the river.

“Once floaters are ready to head out, they can grab a post-float drink at the all-day Swim Hole Lounge or grab refreshments from the Wingstop Food Truck and Monster Energy Rehab Zone,” Federman said.

The sponsor for the event is Coca-Cola, and Coke will be active throughout the event, including “Coca-Cola Ice House,” a Texas-style watering hole serving up ice cold Coca-Cola, including Marshmello’s new limited-edition Coca-Cola Creations flavor.

“The Coca-Cola Ice House also features multiple elevated viewing decks that overlook the Coca-Cola stage, as well as shaded areas and lounge furniture for guests to enjoy,” festival organizers said in a press release.

Shuttle transportation will be offered for those traveling from San Antonio, Austin, Houston, and San Marcos and to the ranch.
