SHINER — After coming off a big 57-14 win against Bryan St. Joseph, the Shiner St. Paul Cardinals (1-0) host Flatonia (1-0) for their first home game of the season. The Cardinals take on a Flatonia team that’s expected to take second in their district after getting to the regional finals in the UIL playoffs last season.

Last week, the Flatonia Bulldogs won 17-14 against Hallettsville Sacred Heart, their lone game of the season due to the affects of Hurricane Harvey in Week 1. Players to look out for include running back Lucas Herrera and quarterback Seth Patton. Offensive lineman Shane Templeton is a three-year starter for the Bulldogs.

Kickoff for the home game against Flatonia is set for 7:30 p.m.
