AgrLife sponsoring Beef Cattle CEU program at JB Wells

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Gonzales County is sponsoring the Beef Cattle CEU Program to be held on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, at the JB Wells Expo Center in Gonzales. Five (5) CEUs have been applied for private, commercial, and non-commercial pesticide license holders.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the program beginning at 9 a.m. To kick off the program, Melissa Barton, Texas Department of Agriculture will discuss Pesticide Applicator Laws & Regulations.

Following will be Josh McGinty, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agronomist to address Pasture Weed Management and Herbicide Update. Concluding the morning will be Megan Clayton, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Range Specialist to discuss Successful Brush Management Options.

Following the morning programs, a catered meal will be served. Megan Clayton, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Range Specialist will conduct Picolinic Acid Training, followed by David Kerns, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Entomologist will discuss Pasture Insect Pests. The program should conclude at about 3 p.m.

The JB Wells Expo Center is located at 2301 County Road 197, near the intersection of Highways 183 and 97, south of Gonzales.

There will be a $40 per person cost, which includes morning refreshments and a catered lunch.  You will need to RSVP for the program by calling the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office in Gonzales County at 830-672-8531 or emailing m-perales@ag.tamu.edu by 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8.
