Game warden seeks information on illegally killed deer

Posted

On the morning of Saturday, Nov. 7 at approximately 7:20 a.m., unknown suspects illegally shot and killed an 8-point white-tailed buck deer on private property in Gonzales County. It is believed that the suspects took the shot from CR 256, a public roadway, and were in the process of retrieving the animal when they were approached by the property owner. At that time, the suspects left the scene of the crime and escaped without being identified.

Witnesses said that the suspects were driving two separate vehicles. The first was a silver-colored, Dodge half-ton or three-quarter-ton extended cab, short wheel-based pickup truck with large tires and black rims. It also sported a black, heavy-duty headache rack with lights. The second vehicle appeared to be a black Dodge, single cab, two-wheel drive pickup with a short wheel base.

This was a felony crime and a reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects. If you or someone you know has information that may help investigators solve this crime, please call the Texas Wildlife Crime-stoppers Operation Game Thief Hotline at 1-800-792-GAME (4263).
