City council set to approve Certificate of Obligation bond for hydroelectric dam repairs

GONZALES - At the bottom of a long, yet routine agenda Gonzales City Council will discuss and consider action on an ordinance authorizing the issuance, sale and delivery of up to $1.7 million in certificate of obligation bonds, to repair the city's hydroelectric dam and facilities.

Under resolutions council is set to discuss and consider: authorizing amendments to the city's personnel manual; the elimination of trash dumpsters at the city's public works; the appointment of a board member to fill a vacancy on Gonzales Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors; the approval of street closures and the consumption of alcohol, for the Sacred Heart Church Festival; appointment of an election judge and workers for the May 6 election; authorizing the city manager to execute an oil, gas and mineral agreement between the city and Tri-Force Explorer I, LLP; authorize the use of Confederate Square by Gonzales Main Street for the city's first ever City Wide Garage Sale; approval of the budget calendar and adoption of a cash flow analysis document to aid the city in the budget process; authorize the use of Confederate Square for the Life Changing Church Revival; authorizing Fresh Fruit Ministries to have a Prayer Walk; and authorizing the city manager to enter into a contract with Doucet & Associates for engineering and project management of the repair project at the hydroelectric dam.

In other business city council will: sign a formal proclamation designating April as Fair Housing Month.

City Council is expected to have an executive session, to discuss real property. Discussion on the closed session will take place, after executive session, in an open forum.

Gonzales City Council meets at 6 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, April 4, at the Gonzales Municipal Building, in Council Chambers.
