Bridge work announced in eastern Gonzales County

GONZALES – TxDOT officials announced on Monday that they will soon begin work on a bridge replacement on CR 353 at Mitchell Creek in eastern Gonzales County near the Shiner Highway. The project is scheduled to begin in June.
TxDOT spokesperson Amanda Fling said that in order to do so, the road will have to be closed for approximately six months. Fling added that TxDOT will notify county officials a week prior to closing the road.
Although TxDOT has yet to announce the contractor to do the work, they said the length of the construction will consist of 380 feet (or .072 miles) of road work, and 70 feet (or 0.13 miles) of bridgework, totaling 450 feet (or .085 miles).
