Trophies will be awarded after that. It’ll be a full day of family fun. There’s no charge and advance registration is welcomed, but not required. For more information or to sign up, call 672-8291, 437-2356 or 263-2027, or email glcc@gvec.net.

A cupcake contest will be held in conjunction with the Family Feud. Contestants in this contest must register, pay an entry fee of $20 and turn in their cupcakes for judging at 10 a.m., with the winner announced at noon.

Our own Mr. Taco got some good publicity this week in the Victoria Advocate, when Jessica Rodrigo, page designer/copy editor, stopped here and ate there.

There was a large color picture of her order and lots of nice words to say about the establishment and her meal. Mr. Taco has completed their expansion at the local restaurant and a bar area in the new part was opened over the weekend. There lots of space and it’s nicely decorated.

A limited number of spaces are left for the Crystal Theatre Young Program’s 2011 Theatre Workshop. It is set for July 11-15 and 18-22 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Instructors are Edith Wilson of the Catastrophic Theatre in Houston and Barbara Crozier of the Crystal Theatre. It is created in association with the Texas Commission on the Arts and The University of Texas, Shakespeare at Winedale Program and will include an optional trip to see a Shakespearean performance at the Winedale Festival on July 28. Forms are available at the chamber office and cost is $125 for the two-week program.

The Pilgrim Country Music Show and Dinner will be held on June 10, with musicians Vernon Whitehead, Winston O’Neal, Jim McWhorter, Margie Rice and Harold Watts. The meal is served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for $6 per plate and performance is at 7 p.m. and that cost is $4.

The Lockhart Chisholm Trail Roundup is Wednesday through Saturday, June 8-12.

Friday night the music on Confederate Square will be furnished by The Czechaholics with Tracie Lynn. Bring your lawn chair.

Three and one-half Amigos will be at the J. B. Wells Park from Friday through Sunday.
