Gonzales ready to groove with Main Street Summer Concert Series
The 14th annual Gonzales Main Street Concert Series in Independence Square has been announced. The line up is versatile and lively, with many participants expected to enjoy this beloved tradition.
Saturday, June 4 – Country Western Night
5:45pm – 6:15pm Blair Kudelka – back by popular demand, Blair will be chasing her dream of becoming a country music legend.
6:30pm – 8:00pm Chris Rybak – The “Accordion Cowboy” – one of the most popular accordion entertainers in Texas, Chris combines his love of music, proud Czech heritage and magnetic personality to entertain audiences of all ages through his showmanship and fresh enthusiastic musical style.
8:30pm – 10:30pm Pendulum Hearts – delivering a captivating, toe-tapping cocktail of Western Swing, Honky Tonk, and Gypsy Jazz, topped off with a splash of Conjunto Norteno. They keep the fiesta going!
Saturday, June 11 - Rock n’Roll Night
5:30pm – 6:30pm John Paul Ortiz – Love me Acoustic Act – acoustic guitarist from Victoria, John Paul Ortiz, has performed throughout the Crossroads, from farmers markets to delicatessens. He plays various covers on his guitar and original compositions created with his brother George Michael Ortiz.
6:30pm – 8:00pm Prohibited Band – Gonzales’ very own local talent! The band’s love of music and passion for entertainment bring them front and center to our summer concert series rock n’ roll night.
8:30pm – 10:30pm Texas Bad Cats – solid, pulsing rhythms draw you to the dance floor, accented by driving and tasty guitar work that makes you want to jump up and cheer. Sultry, 3-part vocal harmonies top it off for an exhilarating voyage back through the decades and into today.
Saturday, June 18 - Juneteenth Celebration – Soul / Jazz / Memphis Blues / Gospel
5:30pm – 6:30pm DJ Buddy – the best of all today’s music, country, tejano, R & B, oldies, dance, rock, hip hop, etc. DJ Buddy plays music to cater to any crowd.
6:30pm – 8:00pm Candace Bellamy (tentative)
8:30pm – 10:00pm Beverly Houston & Breezin’ Band – International recording and performing artist who received the San Antonio People’s Choice Award as the top R&B Artist. A fixture on the South Texas music scene, Houston and her variety band Breezin’ are world renowned.
Saturday, June 25 - Latin / Tejano Night
6:00pm – 8:00pm Calle Swing Band – specializing in entertaining guests with Salsa, Merengue, and Cumbia. Put on your dancing shoes!
8:30pm – 10:30pm Band Alegre featuring Carlos Guzman – Tejano music band featuring the incredibly talented Grammy Award winner Carlos Guzman.
Monday, July 4 - Star Spangled Spectacular Party Bands
6:00pm – 7:30pm Exit 505 – a Texas Hill Country band out of Kerrville, Texas. They play a wide variety of music styles including bluegrass, country, rock, Texas swing and gospel. Instrumentation includes guitar, bass, dobro, mandolin, violin, banjo, saxophone, clarinet, ukulele, drums, and more.
8:00pm – 9:30pm The Time Bandits – steeped in old funky classic rock, country, jazz and R & B this group will throw down “Sultans of Swing” followed by “Luckenback, TX”. They deliver a compact, professional sound and stage experience along with loads of enthusiasm.
Bring your lawn chairs to the square in downtown Gonzales every Friday and Saturday in June and the Fourth of July and enjoy food, drinks, games, shopping, live music and so much more!
