The Gonzales City Council introduced its three finalists for the city manager position at a meet and greet at the Robert Lee Brothers Jr. Library after holding a special council meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Candidates include interim Gonzales City Manager and current Police Chief Tim Crow; Robert Eads, a former Laredo city manager; and Jessica Carpenter, a former Port Arthur Economic Development Corporation executive director and former Port Lavaca development services director.

The city council could make a decision on the position as soon as tonight’s City Council meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 820 Saint Joseph St.

A discussion of the position is on the agenda for closed session since it is regarding personnel. Any action by the council to hire a new city manager would have to be taken in open session.
