Sometime after 5 p.m., on Thursday, November 30 a team of out-of-town judges will slide into Gonzales and set about the task of judging Gonzales businesses on their Christmas window decorations.

The judges will award points for the businesses' use of space, merchandise display, theme and lighting. Scoring of the window displays will be done on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being "poor" and 10 being "excellent."

Each business has the opportunity to earn extra points, for exterior decorations, clean windows and weed-free sidewalks.

Contest winners will be announced during the Lighted Christmas Parade at 6:30 p.m., on Saturday, December 2.

First place winner will receive $250, second place will get $150, and third place will get $100. Winners will also receive a window poster to display at their business and have their picture and an announcement in The Gonzales Inquirer.

Businesses must be registered to be in the contest. Entry forms may be picked up at the City of Gonzales Municipal Building, 820 St. Joseph Street and returned there, mailed to the City of Gonzales at P.O. Box 547, Faxed to 830-672-2813, or scanned and emailed to bfriedrich@gonzales.texas.gov, by 5 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 22.
