Wineries for festival announced

Organizers of the Come and Taste It Craft Beer and Wine Festival have announced the names of the three wineries that are participating inside the festival area in 2019.

The three wineries are Majek, Moravia and San Duccerro.

“We will be serving three of four different varietals from these wineries on Friday and Saturday night,” said Festival Director Terence J. Fitzwater. “When I found out the city wanted the Inquirer to handle the wine this year, I immediately thought of trying to support these wineries as they are local to our area and they have some great wine.

“Next year, we will look to add more wineries from around the state of Texas, but we just didn’t have adequate time to do it justice in 2019.”

In addition to the three wineries and 12 varietals that will be available, so far there are a number of breweries committed to the event, including the full line of Shiner products, Seguin Brewing Company, Thirsty Planet, Free Tail Brewing, Bells Brewery, Karbach Brewing, Guadalupe Brewing, Twisted X Brewing, Coors Products and others that are being added.

The festival has lined up five different performers, with Gabe Gallardo playing on Friday, April 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, April 27, O.S. Grant will open, followed by Bethany Becker and her band (Austin), the Oliver White Group (Houston) and The Hot Attacks (Victoria).

Tickets for the two days are available at the Gonzales Inquirer office. VIP passes are $50 and are good for both days. Saturday-only tickets are $25. All net proceeds from the Come and Taste It Craft Beer Festival go to Project 2030, a scholarship fund benefitting students at Victoria College here in Gonzales.
