Lady Mustangs win two straight

In District 27-3A volleyball, the Nixon-Smiley Lady Mustangs moved up to 2-2 in district play after knocking off Luling last Friday and Karnes City on Tuesday. Nixon-Smiley travels to Poth on Friday, then to Yoakum next Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Luling in search of first district win

The Luling Lady Eagles have struggled early on in District 27-3A volleyball, losing to Nixon-Smiley last Friday, then to Yoakum on Tuesday to drop down to 0-4. Luling travels to Stockdale on Friday before taking on Poth on the road on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Shiner St. Paul wins in five

Shiner St. Paul knocked off Victoria Faith Academy on Tuesday in five sets, (25-19, 21-25, 25-15, 16-25, 15-9). The Lady Cardinals travel to San Antonio to take on Atonement Academy on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Lady Comanches suffer first district loss

The Shiner Lady Comanches suffered their first District 27-2A loss on Tuesday, losing in five sets (25-22, 21-25, 25-21, 9-25, 18-16) to Flatonia. Shiner hosts Brazos on Friday, with the game set for 4 p.m.
