Veronica Diane Fetters Zimmerman, 69, of Cuero, passed away Thursday, Jan. 25, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Oct. 2, 1948 in Cuero to the late Marvin and Virginia Dreyer Fetters. Veronica married the love of her life, Richard W. Zimmerman, August 16, 1968 in Cuero. She was a drafting technician for Guadalupe Valley Electric Coop for 35 years in Cuero and Gonzales. Veronica was an active member of the Lindenau Rifle Club, Catholic Daughters of America, and the VFW Auxiliary.

Veronica is survived by her husband of 49 years; son, Richard W. Zimmerman Jr. of Portland; daughter, Ronda Zimmerman (Tim) Casner of Goliad; sisters, Evelyn Hahn (James) of Mission Valley, Mary Lapp of Cuero, and Amy Rubac (Tim) of Edna; brothers, Rock Fetters of Cuero, Kurt (Robbie) Fetters of Albuquerque, Frank Fetters of Austin, and Chris Fetters of Hutto; grandchildren, Bobby Tislow III (Mary Gower) of Victoria, Ashley Zimmerman (Travis Hunt) of Halletsville, Casey Tislow of Goliad, and Madison Casner of Goliad.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Freund Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. The graveside service will be held Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. at Lindenau Community Cemetery with Father Jacob Mendoza officiating. Immediately following the graveside service the family would like to invite everyone to the Lindenau Rifle Club for a time of food and fellowship.

Pallbearers include Bobby Tislow III, David Zimmerman, Jeff Cowan, Will Zimmerman, Martin Leske III, Travis Buch, Clay Fetters, and Wesley Zimmerman. Honorary Pallbearers include 2016 Goliad Tigerette Volleyball Team, Travis Hunt, Clem Weber, Curtis Koening, Jaylin Fetters, and the former employees of DeWitt Co. Electrical Coop.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lindenau Rifle Club.
