Three Waelder council members to be sworn in at meeting
Waelder city council will issue oaths of office for three city council members May 14 at its regularly scheduled meeting.
Waelder’s election was cancelled because of a lack of candidates, so Michael Harris and Valentino “Tino” Hernandez will retain their seats, while Curtis Hadnot Jr. will take over Samuel “Rocky” Quintero’s position. Quintero declined to run for reelection, and Hadnot Jr. was the only candidate to apply for the opening.
The council will also discuss financing a new water well, provide an update from Gonzales County EMS and consider renaming The City of Waelder, City Park.
Council will meet at 7 p.m. at the Waelder Community Center, 311 Highway 90 West, Waelder, Texas 78959. City council meetings are always open to the public.
