TCEQ compliance notice received by county

A new letter formally received by the Gonzales County Commissioners Court Dec. 16 states the county is in compliance with Texas Commission on Environment Quality (TCEQ) standards. In May 2019, the county received notice from TCEQ of an alleged violation at the Gonzales County Precinct 3 yard located at 1813 Water St. TCEQ investigators found two excavated pits filled with assorted garbage on the county property.
On Dec. 9, Precinct 3 Commissioner Kevin La Fleur read a statement explaining the series of events involved in the clean-up. As of Oct. 28, the county has submitted adequate documentation to resolve the alleged violation.
