Sue Escobedo

Sue Escobedo, 75, of Gonzales, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral Services are under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas and will held on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 10:30 am at the First Baptist Church in Gonzales, Texas with Reverend Steve Smothers officiating. Cremation will follow the Funeral. Viewing will be on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm with Visitation from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Buffington Funeral Home.

Sue was born on March 4, 1944 in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Sue married Roland Escobedo on August 14, 1969 at the American Embassy in Seoul, Korea. She was a homemaker, mother and also a foster parent for more than 20 years. She loved to cook, travel, and watch her soap operas on tv. She liked sewing, caring for her flower garden and rose bud trees. She liked playing board games with the children. Sue was obsessed with cleaning and organization. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and served on mission trips to Korea.

Sue is survived by Roland, her loving husband of 50 years, two sons; Roland Escobedo, Jr. of Gonzales, Texas, Justin Escobedo of Gonzales, Texas, four daughters; Mary Jane Povey and her husband, Ira of Wilsonville, Oregon, Ashten Escobedo of Gonzales, Texas, Felishia Escobedo of Gonzales, Texas, Amanda Escobedo of Gonzales, Texas, eight grandchildren, and many foster children. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one son; Abel Escobedo.

Serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Escobedo will be; Gene Tieken, Bryan Gibson, Brian Wells, Johnnie hall, Charlie Rochester, and Lance Tatsch.
