Lady Cardinals knock off Sacred Heart

Shiner St. Paul beat Sacred Heart 46-23 on the road on Dec. 11. Gracey Novosad had a team-leading 17 points and 11 rebounds. She also had a team-leading six teams and three assists. Grace Irvin added 12 points to the state sheet, shooting 6-of-13 from the field. She also had five rebounds, three assists and four steals. Shiner St. Paul travel to Flatonia on Friday before playing East Bernard next week, Dec. 20.

GJHS 7B Lady Apaches take down rivals

On Monday, Dec. 10, the Gonzales Lady Apache 7B team defeated Cuero 14-5. Vanessa Daniel had six points, Tara Lester scored four and Kelly Breitschopf and Jadyn Jones both scored two points each. The 7B team is now 3-1 this season.

Lady Apaches beat Ro-Hawks on the road

Gonzales girls basketball team took down Randolph on Tuesday, beating the Ro-Hawks 43-24. On Friday they host La Vernia to open district play.

Wildcats lost to Flatonia

The Waelder Wildcats took a 58-54 loss on the road in a non-district game on Tuesday. Waelder travels to Cuero on Friday before traveling to Prairie Lea on Tuesday, Dec. 18.

Mustangs drop non-district matchup

Nixon-Smiley took a 37-27 loss on Tuesday to Bloomington at home. The Mustangs travel to take on the Navarro Tournament this weekend before hosting McMullen County on Tuesday, Dec. 18.

Lady Mustangs drop road game

Nixon-Smiley lost 58-37 to Marion in a non-district game on the road. The Lady Mustangs take on McMullen County at home on Tuesday, Dec. 18.

Eagles out-paced in high-scoring game

The Luling boys basketball team took an 80-57 loss at home against Harlandale on Tuesday, Dec. 11. The Eagles are set to take on the Navarro Tournament this weekend before hosting Marion next Tuesday.

Ranked Lady Eagles lose close

The state-ranked Luling Lady Eagles lost close to Class 4A Smithville on the road 59-57. Luling hosts Lampasas this Friday with tipoff set at 7 p.m. before traveling to San Antonio Cole for a game on Dec. 18 with tipoff at 6:15 p.m.
