Service held for Deputy Josh Leopold

A special memorial service was held Sunday afternoon for Gonzales County Sheriff Deputy Joshua Leopold, who lost his life on March 1 in Caldwell County.

Over 400 mourners attended the service at the J.B. Wells Jr. Expo Center, with over 75 law enforcement officers and first responders from Gonzales and neighboring counties in attendance.

Leopold’s life was remembered by his family and friends, and then a final duty call was piped out over the county police band announcing Leopold’s final call to duty around 1:40 p.m.

Josh Leopold was 32 years old.
