Gonzales County Constable Precinct #1

Scott Rhodes (R)

Posted

Hello, my name is Scott Rhodes, and I am running for Gonzales County Constable, Precinct #1 in the Republican 2020 primary election.

I have over 22 years of experience in law enforcement and hold a Master Peace Officer’s License. I am a certified field training officer and a military veteran. I am active in the Gonzales Republican Party and our local Friends of the NRA. I am also a member of the Gonzales Noon Lions Club.

Being a constable to me is a full-time commitment and duty. I want to make the Precinct #1 Constable’s Office be the best it can be by providing support to the community and other local law enforcement agencies when needed.

I attended SAC Law Enforcement Academy where I completed and earned my Texas Peace Officer License in 1997.

I began working for the Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office, first as a reserve deputy in 2012 and then became full-time as a patrol deputy in 2013 until December 2019.

In 2014, I started working with the City of Smiley to create a City Marshal’s Office. We received our commission from the State of Texas to open as a City Marshal’s Office in 2015. I served as the new Smiley City Marshal until 2017 and I still hold an active reserve commission with the Smiley City Marshal’s Office.

The constable position will be my sole occupation, and I would treat it as such. It does not serve you as citizens of Precinct 1 to have a “part-time” constable. You deserve someone who is highly qualified and dedicated to serving you and fulfilling the requirements of the position. You should get your money’s worth.

I would like to thank everyone for all the time and effort you have put in to help me achieve this goal.
