Cardinals limited to 81 rushing yards in 31-7 loss
Shiner St. Paul (0-3) are in search of their first win of the season after losing to the Austin Saints 31-7. The Cardinals lone score came in the fourth-quarter, an eight-yard pass from Dalton Jahn to Cole Brown. The offense rushed a combined 34-times for 81 yards.
Meanwhile, Austin Saints had a combined 29 rushes for 201 yards. Quarterback George Breckwoldt went 12-of-17 for 199 yards and three touchdowns. Breckwoldt also ran seven times for 71 yards and a score.
Noeh Boedeker had the most yards for St. Paul, carrying the ball nine times for 36 yards. Carson Reese had 12 carries for 34 yards.
St. Paul travels to Houston to take on Cypress Christian (2-1) this Friday.

Mustangs lose at home 27-7
Nixon-Smiley (0-3) couldn’t get things going, averaging just 2.31 yards per play in their 27-7 loss against Hallettsville Sacred Heart (2-1).
The Mustangs’ lone score of the night came on a 10-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter by Xavier Arias. Arias led the team in rushing, carrying the ball 11 times for 51 yards. Quarterback Benito Perez completed 5-of-14 passes for 39 yards and an interception. Jose Rodriguez was the leading receiver with four catches for 30 yards.
Defensively, Domonic Ramos led the team in tackles with seven. He also forced a fumble. Rodriguez had one fumble recovery.
Nixon-Smiley hosts San Antonio Cole (3-0) this Friday.

Luling shut out at home
The Luling Eagles (0-3) were shut out at home, losing to Schulenburg 38-0. Luling travels to Altair to take on the Rice Consolidated Raiders (2-1).

Comanches win streak extended
The Shiner Comanches (3-0) extended their win streak with an impressive homecoming 63-32 victory over Burton (1-2). The Comanches host the Tidehaven Tigers (0-3) this Friday, with kickoff set at 7:30 p.m.
