Sales tax revenues show small increase

AUSTIN Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar sent cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $640 million in local sales tax allocations for June, 3.6 percent more than in June of 2016.

Gonzales County received an allocation of $206,888.37, nearly $100,000 more than the allotment at this time last year, for a year-to-date (YTD) total of $1,090,150.31. In June of 2016 the county received 108,241.32. In June of 2015 the allocation was $252,443.79.

The City of Gonzales received a small increase in its monthly allocation. This month the city received an allotment of $177,957.81, for a YTD total of $1,094,787.65. In June of 2016 the city received a little less, at $176,554.28. In June of 2015 the city received $221,521.48.

The City of Nixon was allocated $19,630.52 this month, for a YTD total of $133,258.12. Tis allocation is a small climb from the disbursement in June of 2016 when Nixon received an allocation of $17,833.87. In 2015 Nixon received $82,245.93.

The City of Waelder received an allotment of $2,638.51, for a YTD total of $20,154.33/ In June of 2016 Waelder received $3,802.38. In June of 2015 Waelder received an allotment of $4,382.29.

These allocations are based on sales made in April by businesses that report tax monthly.
