Ruperto Herrera Ramos

Ruperto Herrera Ramos, 66, of Austin, formerly of Gonzales, passed away Monday, Dec. 11. He was born May 29, 1951 in Gonzales the son of Ramiro and Anita Herrera Ramos. He was a graduate of Gonzales High School. He served with the U.S. Army. He worked for 10 years at Purina in Gonzales and later moved to Austin where he was an aircraft painter at Bergstrom Air Force Base. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He married Wanda Gay Rucker on June 3, 2005.

He is survived by his sisters Anita Campos and husband Daniel and Luisa Venegas and husband Frank Jr. all of Gonzales. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brothers John, Raymond and Ray.

Visitation was held from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral mass was celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Reverend Paul Raaz officiating. Interment will follow at Gonzales Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include Raymond Ramos Jr., Joe Ramos, Christopher Ramos, Mike Castillo Jr., Frank Venegas III, Albert Camarillo, Jacob Ramos, Ray Lopez, Delbert Garcia, Henry Vara and Ray Contreras. Arrangements under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, Gonzales.
