Riojas files for mayor position

NIXON – Nixon City Council has three seats up for grabs, including that of the incumbent Mayor Gladyne Finch.

While Finch has not filed mayoral candidacy paperwork, former councilwoman Dorothy Riojas has.

Councilman Doug Koenig and Councilwoman Pat Dingler are also up for re-election.

Dingler has not turned in her candidacy paperwork yet, but Koenig has turned in his.

Finch, Dingler and anyone else interested in candidacy will have until close of business on Friday to file, according to City Secretary Gina Trotter. Elections are Saturday, May 5.
