Reverend Glynn Edward Behrend, age 69, originally from Brazoria County, went to his heavenly reward Jan. 7 with his family and loved ones surrounding him singing and worshipping.
Glynn was born in Freeport, TX on Feb. 7, 1948 to Melvin and Melvine Behrend.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tommy Ray Behrend of Brazoria County.
Glynn leaves behind to honor and cherish his memory, his wife Connie of 46 years, four beautiful daughters and three awesome son-in-laws, Joy Miller (Marty), Kim Cozine (Shawn) of Brazoria County, Glenda Behrend of Gonzales and Charity Ballard (Joey) of Sebastopol California. Glynn leaves behind nine awesome grandchildren and last Sunday met one in heaven. The grandkiddos are Tyler, 23, Zachary, 17, Makenna, 12, Jaxon Glynn, six, Sierra, 12, Kylee, two, Brooklynn, 10 and Eli and Niam age four and six, one sibling Pats (Roger) smith, sister-in-law Vonnie Behrend and many cousins, nieces and nephews, a beautiful church family, Gonzales Family Assembly of God where he pastored for 12 ½ years and many friends
It was a joy to him to also oversee two other awesome sister churches
Glynn is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God since 1976. He was born again, sprit filled and called into ministry in 1967. Glynn and Connie attended Southwestern A/God Bible College in the early 70s. Glynn received his four-year degree in ministry.
They pastored churches in Texas, Colorado and Alaska. They were full-time missionaries in Alaska from 1980-1996.
Glynn was a licensed pilot with over 1,000 hours in Alaska. He absolutely loved preaching, pastoring, flying, hunting, fishing, photography and Bluebell ice cream.
A memorial service will be held at Gonzales Family Church this Saturday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m. After three years of much prayer, etc., Glynn and Connie choose for Connie to remain as senior pastor with a team of co-pastors.
