Prom goes on

Even though the school year has ended, the students from Gonzales High School still managed to have a prom last Sunday, delayed after the coronavirus pandemic shutdown canceled many events. The prom was held at the J.B. Wells Center. Health protocols for wedding venues were used from Open Texas webpage. Tables were spaced six feet apart with limited seating at tables. The students or their parents had to sign a COVID-19 self-screening form. Hand sanitizer was plentiful, and parents regularly sprayed down surfaces with disinfectant. Masks were encouraged but not required. The prom was sponsored by the Junior Prom Committee.
