Prayer vigil for shooting victims planned today in Luling

A prayer vigil for the families of Klayton Wade Manning and Landin Dawson Robinson and the community is planned for tonight (Sunday, June 14) from 6 to 7 p.m. at Longer Park, according to a Facebook post by Elliott Bucky Floyd on the Luling Discussion Group page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/617220418431880/permalink/1595190617301517/

"Luling along with Caldwell and surrounding counties would like to honor and give our support to the families in prayer," the post read. .

According to the post, the vigil will open with a prayer, followed by words from S.E.C.C.V.F.D Chief Jack Musick along with family members of the victims, and close with a prayer.

Social distancing within guidelines will be practices in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The two men were shot June 8 in the 4400 block of Tenny Creek Road near Tilmon, located in an unincorporated area of the county southeast of Lockhart according to the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responding found Manning, 18, of Luling and Robinson, 16, dead at the scene.

On June 11, 34-year-old Bryan Haynes was arrested at a home in Bastrop County, according to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office.
The SHeriff's Office was joined by Texas Rangers, U. S. Marshall Service, Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office and Austin Police Department in amking the arrest.

Haynes is in custody at the Caldwell County Jail with a $500,000 bond. The sheriff’s offices said he is the only suspect in this case.
