Peggy Ann Quick Munson, 82, of Gonzales, was received by heavenly Angels on Monday, July 29, 2019. Peggy was born January 24, 1937 in Barksdale, Texas to Oley and Lena Faye Connell Quick. She married Houston Cotton Munson, Jr. on August 23, 1957 in San Antonio. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Garden Club, Ladies Golf Association, the Bridge Club and the Birthday Club.

Peggy grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School where she was a 4-year Varsity Cheerleader. Peggy attended San Antonio Community College while working at San Antonio Savings. She moved to Austin to advance her studies at the University of Texas where she joined Houston Munson, Jr. They married while they were both attending the University of Texas. In 1964, she moved to Gonzales with her husband as he worked to build his law practice. Houston quickly established himself as brilliant trial attorney, and Peggy was just as quickly welcomed as a loving, gentlewoman who was always willing to drop whatever she was doing to help another. Her kindness, love for others and welcoming smile were natural attributes that attracted so very many to love her in return.

Peggy enjoyed golfing with her lady friends, oil painting, playing bridge, gin rummy, gardening and collecting western art. She loved to snow ski the runs of Vail, Colorado until grandchildren presented her with an opportunity to stay in the cabin and care for them while others took to the slopes. She enjoyed her travels to Vail and Santa Fe, New Mexico and dearly loved shopping, especially for shoes, clothes and items to decorate her home. Peggy was a nurturing mother and grandmother. She was compassionate, loving sweet and kind in caring for her family. Her faith was undeniable, and she lived her faith by example in guiding her family in spirit and faith to the word of the Lord.
