Pedro “Pete” A. DeLuna, Sr.

Pedro “Pete” A. DeLuna, Sr., of Gonzales, Texas passed away on June 29, 2020. He was born on May 13, 1936 in Monthalia, Texas.

Cremation Rites are under the direction of Buffington Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Pete was a truck driver for forty plus years. He enjoyed and had a love for any and all 18 wheelers. He spent 20 plus years driving a cement truck, retiring from Alamo Concrete. He enjoyed traveling and watching western movies. Above all that, he loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pete is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Elisa T. DeLuna of Gonzales, Texas, his children; Rose Estrada and her husband, Eddie of Gonzales, Texas, Sylvia Mendoza and her husband, Arthur of Schulenburg, Texas, Elogio DeLuna of Gonzales, Texas, Jane Escobedo and her husband, Mario of Gonzales, Texas, He was preceded in death by his parents Santos and Feleciana A. DeLuna, his first wife; Refugia D. DeLuna, one son; Pedro “Pete” DeLuna, Jr., sisters; Epifania D. Perez, Juana D. Contreras, Santos D Longoria, two brothers; Jesse A. DeLuna, and Elogio A. DeLuna.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Elisa, his children, nineteen grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren, sisters; Lupe D. Brazil of Schertz, Texas, and a plethora of nieces and nephews, and all his driving buddies.

The family would like to thank Gonzales Memorial Hospital, ER staff, EMS personnel, and the ladies of Davita Dialysis Center for the care everyone devoted to caring for Pete over the years.
