Posted

On March 6, Pauline P. Melchor entered into eternal rest. She took a last, peaceful breath and fell into the arms of Jesus. Heaven truly gained a beautiful and loving Angel. Victory is yours “Polly” and oh the fight you fought.

Pauline was born on Jan. 26, 1952, to Manuel and Patrocinia Perales of Flatonia, Texas. She attended and graduated from Flatonia High School with the class of 1970. Polly treasured her many years in the Head Start program in Waelder and the surrounding area. She later was employed as the Llbrarian with the City of Waelder, where she continued to touch the lives of many children. This was one of her greatest joys and a true blessing in her life. Pauline was an extremely talented seamstress. She enjoyed crafting with family and friends and volunteering to help anyone was a passion of hers. She was an active member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Ladies Club. Nothing pleased her more than to entertain family and friends and her carrot cake will certainly be a part of her legacy.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Oscar Melchor, of 46 years; their son Carlo Adam and wife, Christina, of Gonzales, Texas, and their daughter, Jennifer Marie and husband, Donny Carroll, of Victoria, Texas, and 10 grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers George Contreras (Gloria) of Houston, Mike Perales (Nancy) of Flatonia, Johnny Perales (Dottie) of Praha and sisters Jane Robichaud (David) of Katy, Guadalupe Ramirez of Oregon, Tommie Orosco (Felipe) of Flatonia and Beatrice Ramirez (Sam) of Katy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends and others whose lives Pauline touched. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Basilio Perales and Isidro Contreras.
