Pauline Casanova Aguirre, 74, of Gonzales, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020. She was born Jan. 1, 1946 in Gonzales the daughter of Paul and Rose Flores Casanova. She married Rafael “Ralph” Aguirre at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in 1963.

She worked in the dietary department of Holmes Hospital for 10 years, Kent Foods for 20 years and retired from Care Inn/Texan Nursing and Rehab in 2008 working in housekeeping. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, solving puzzles, playing UNO with the kids and Spanish Bingo. She loved shopping, travel and was known for being quite the “Fashionista” and was always dressed immaculately. Most of all she treasured time spent with her loving family, especially their Easter gathering which included her devoted husband, children, grandchildren and the many Godchildren she and Rafael acquired throughout the years. She will be remembered for her very unforgettable laughter and endless love.

She is survived by her husband Rafael “Ralph” of Gonzales; daughters Carolyn Aguirre Camarillo and husband Jesse and Annette Aguirre all of Gonzales; son Matthew Paul Aguirre and wife Frances of Houston; sister Rose Marie Casanova of North Carolina; brother David Paul Casanova of Gonzales; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Julian Ray “Dooley” Aguirre. Memorial services will be held at a later date with interment at St. James Catholic Cemetery.
