Oralia “Lolly” Guevara Curry

Oralia “Lolly” Guevara Curry of Luling, Texas went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 1 at the age of 61 years. She was born on Dec. 12, 1957 in Gonzales, Texas to Santiago and Juanita (Lopez) Guevara.

Oralia married her loving husband of 17 years, Tommy Curry, on Nov. 23, 2002 at Saint James Catholic Church in Gonzales Texas.

Oralia enjoyed all things in life but spending time with her family and friends was her biggest joy. She enjoyed cooking and baking while singing along to some of her favorite songs when she thought no one was watching. When she wasn’t on Facebook sharing recipes or playing games, she could be found tending to her yard and caring for her plants, picking pecans and enjoying her novelas. Her positive outlook on life, sense of humor and caring personality made her a joy to be around.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Aurora G Zumaya and Minnie Martinez and her brothers Catarino Guevara and Freddy Guevara.

She is survived by her husband Tommy Curry of Luling, sons; Joe Ramirez Jr of Gonzales, Jeremy Lee Ramirez of Gonzales, Marcus Anthony Canales (Keisha) of New Braunfels, daughter; Michelle Leigh Ramirez (John Salinas) of Luling, sisters; Susan Flores (Mariano) of Seguin, Sylvia Banda (Richard) of Gonzales, Janie Medel (Avelino II) of Yoakum, grandchildren; Jeremiah Ramirez, Hayleigh Camacho, Brayden Garcia, Christopher “Chilli” Garcia, Nevaeh Garcia, Rihanna Deese of Luling, Conrad Canales, Marcus Anthony Canales Jr., Noah Cruz, Abriella Canales of New Braunfels and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are under the direction of Harris Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas. Visitation was held on Monday, Nov. 4 from 6-7 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gonzales. Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Reverend Howard Goertz officiating.

Pallbearers include Joe Ramirez Jr., Jeremy Lee Ramirez, Marcus Anthony Canales, Jeremiah Ramirez, Michael Hernandez and Jacob Rodriguez.
