Onnie Ruth Trimble

Onnie Ruth Trimble, 91, of Gonzales, passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2016. She was born Nov. 2, 1924 in Gonzales County, the daughter of Byron Eugene and Onnie Autry DuBose.

She was a homemaker and had worked for many years as a cook both at Ken’s Truck Stop and Kiddie Care in Gonzales. She enjoyed crossword and find-a-word puzzles, a peaceful ride in the country and watching over her cows. She was an excellent cook and was known by many as “Granny Ruth.” 

She is survived by her son, Ed Trimble of Augusta, Geo.; sister, Lois Faye DuBose of Gonzales; four grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Trimble; grandson, Thomas Edward Trimble; sisters, Josephine Dubose Hinton Johnson and Mary Jane Lianzia and brothers, Byron Eugene DuBose Jr. and Kenneth DuBose.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Lammers officiating. Interment will follow at the Hinton Haven DuBose Cemetery. 

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home 906 St. Paul street in Gonzales.
