‘Old 18’ reenactment set for Sept. 29

The Sons of the Republic of Texas Chapter 29 will commemorate the “Old Eighteen” refusing to surrender the cannon during an event starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at the picnic area across from the historical markers on CR 197.
Former Gonzales Historical Chair Bob Burchard is the guest speaker.
The picnic area has a few benches, so attendees are may want to bring a folding chair.
