Nixon-Smiley duo set for regional meet

GOLIAD — Nixon-Smiley’s Jake Torres and Justice Torres are set to compete at the Region IV-3A track and field meet this weekend, with both runners competing in the 400-meter dash and Justice Torres competing in the 200-meter dash.
Justice Torres placed fourth in the area meet with a time of 23.66 seconds, beating out Jake who was timed at 23.67 seconds.
Justice bested Jake in the 400-meter run, as Justice took second with a time of 50.32 seconds and Jake placed third with a time of 51.35 seconds.
The Torres duo will compete in the Region IV-3A track and field meet this weekend, April 27-28, at D.W. Rutledge Stadium in Converse.
