Gonzales County Emergency Services District #1 Sept. 5

  • No comments were given during the public hearing. This hearing was the second of two. The next ESD meeting is set for 4 p.m. Sept. 19 at the GCEMS Station, 1703 St Joseph St.

Gonzales City Council Sept. 5

  • Residents David DeMent requested the city add a sidewalk on Church St. The city said it would look into grants for the project.
  • No comments were given during both the tax rate and budget public hearings. Council will vote on the tax rate and budget 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Gonzales Municipal, 820 Saint Joseph St.
  • Council authorized City manager Tim Patek to enter into an agreement with Frost Insurance Agency to provide health insurance broker services and other services.
  • Council froze the Gonzales Economic Development Corporation administrative assistant position and removed the funds allocated from the line item.
  • Council budgeted $7,500 to the Edward’s Association for improvements to facilities. It allocated the same amount for the previous budget.

Gonzales County Commissioners Court Sept. 9

  • No public comments were given.
  • Minutes from the Aug. 21 and 26 meetings were approved.
  • The Tax Assessor-Collector’s monthly report was received.
  • Monthly Reports from Constable Precinct 1, 3 and 4 were received.
  • Deputation for Matthew Krupa of the Gonzales County Sherriff’s Office was approved.
  • A variance request to the Gonzales County Subdivision rules in Precinct 3 was approved.
  • A revised agreement between the Gonzales County Jail and Securus Technologies, Inc. was approved.
  • An order fixing salary of Gonzales County Auditor and Assistant County Auditors was approved.
  • In accordance with Local Government Code, distribution of unclaimed county capital credits to appropriate programs was approved.
  • A resolution authorizing Texas Department of Agriculture Texans Feeding Texans: Home Delivered Meal Grant Program was approved.
  • A memorandum of understanding between Gonzales Independent School District and Gonzales County was approved.
  • The county authorized County Attorney Paul Watkins to open discussions with other attorneys at law regarding opioid legal representation letters.
  • Budget amendments 50, 51, 52 and 53 were approved.
  • Bills were read and approved.

Gonzales ISD School Board Sept. 9

  • No public comments were given.
  • Progress reports from all campus administrators were given.
  • Minutes from the Aug. 12 and 26 meetings were approved.
  • Purchase of workers compensation insurance was approved.
  • The board of trustees nominated Josie Smith-Wright as the delegate to the TASB Delegate Assembly and named Sue Gottwald as an alternative.
  • A resolution approving the deletion of Policy FEE (Local) was accepted.
  • A resolution approving the CQ Policy regarding the Internet Safety Policy, CIPA & Web Filtering was approved.
