Maxine Christian

Maxine Christian, age 84, of Gonzales, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31. She was born in Gonzales County, Texas on October 19, 1933, and was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Willie Frances O’Neal Goldman and her husband, George H. Christian.

Maxine is survived by her son, James Christian and wife Susan; grandson, Jason Christian and wife Julie; great-grandchildren: Joshua Benavides, Jakob Christian, and Jared Christian; sister, Faye Cowen and her children: Donna Cowen, Wade Cowen, and Kendra Dossey; brother-in-law, Melvin Christian and wife Joy and their son, August Glen Christian and wife Jackie; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as other loving family and many friends.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, with visitation beginning at 12 p.m. The Rev. Marvin Miles will officiate the service with interment following at the Bundick Cemetery near Smiley. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
