Marilyn Rose Kulhanek Walleck

Marilyn Rose Kulhanek Walleck, 65, of Gonzales passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 24 with her family by her side. She was born Jan. 7, 1953 in San Antonio, the daughter of Walter Albert Kulhanek Sr. and Rosie Matias Kulhanek.

Rose was a devout Catholic and attended Catholic schools. She worked as a nurses’ aide for several years and was an accomplished seamstress. She loved sewing, dancing and spending time at the beach. She was known for her “Green Thumb” and was an expert gardener. Most of all she treasured time spent with her family especially her beloved grandkids.

She is survived by her sons: Tommy Walleck Jr. and wife Janice of Gonzales, Jason Ryan Walleck of Bastrop and Kevin Walleck of Sealy; daughters: Julia Ann Walleck of Yoakum and Rebecca Ann Boedeker and husband Russell of Gonzales; sisters: Evelyn Johnson, Roselyn Roell, Doris Washichek, Dorothy Agee and Cynthia Kulhanek. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Carolyn Densman and Mary Joan Hueholt and brother Walter Albert Kulhanek Jr.

Rosary will be recited 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers include Justin Walleck, Weston Walleck, Jeffery Walleck, Rick Rodriguez, Josh Baker and Troy Crumley. Arrangements under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
