Main Street releases Concert Series lineup

In just over a month, the 11th annual Gonzales Main Street Concert Series will once again kick off and electrify the downtown square in Gonzales. The weekly fun, food, drinks, games and live music opens Friday, June 7 with performances by country bands Kenny Orts & No Chance from Taylor at 6 p.m. and Five Card Draw from Corpus Christi at 8:45 p.m.

The following Friday, June 14 Shiner’s own Bill Pekar and The Rainey Brothers opens at 6 p.m. and following them at 8:45 p.m. is “groove-based roots-rock” band from Houston Different Beast.

June 21 is Tejano night and will feature performances from Roadhouse Conjunto at 7:00 p.m. and the legendary Ram Herrera and the Outlaw Band at 8:45 p.m.

June 28 is the last show in the month and second to last in the series. It will feature country performances from Gonzales’s own D.J. Richter and Texxas at 7 p.m. and South Texas native Jarrod Birmingham at 8:45 p.m. In between the two bands, the South Texas Camp of Champions will give a live performance

The concert series concludes on the Fourth of July with a two-hour performance by variety band From Giddings, Texas Unlimited Band starting at 7 p.m. Following the performance, the Star-Spangled Spectacular Fireworks Show will light up the night sky.

“The concert series is a place for the community, visitors and tourists alike to congregate and socialize,” Barbara Friedrich, Gonzales Main Street administrator, said. “Our events are always family friendly.”

All concert series events are free to attend and open to all ages.
