The 66th annual Watermelon Thump took place in Luling June 27-30. Among the events in the festival were a parade through downtown Luling, a watermelon eating contest and live music. Valerie Bermudez was named the 66th Luling Watermelon Thump Queen Thursday, June 27. Amanda Avalos was awarded the Princess title and Sydney Jack earned Duchess.
