Lenora Bertie Seale, 93, of McKinney passed away Sunday, March 18. She was born May 2, 1924 in Mexia, Texas the daughter of Clint and Gertrude Smith Carter. She married James Tolliver Seale on November 9, 1939 in Madisonville, Texas.

She was a homemaker and beautician. She owned and operated a beauty shop for many years in Pasadena. She was a member of the Genesis Church in McKinney and a former member of the Maranatha Church in Luling. She loved baking, cooking sewing and traveling. She had traveled to Sumatra, Java, Singapore, Hawaii, Mexico and throughout the United States.

Lenora’s laugh was contagious and she was known for her sense of humor and her optimistic outlook on life. She enjoyed singing and music; but most of all she treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Geneva Martinez of McKinney and Mary Richardson and husband John of Gonzales, brother, Rex Timms and wife June of Granbury, grandchildren, Cathryn Paton and husband Tony of McKinney, James Laughlin and wife Kristen of Conroe; great-grandchildren: Samuel Paton, James Paton, Sarah Paton, Kaleb Laughlin and Brendan Laughlin, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband and best friend of 40 years James, grandson Jeffrey Laughlin and brothers J.C. Carter and Daniel “D.C.” Carter, sisters-in-law Peggy Carter, Helen Carter and Mollie Carter. Visitation will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 23, at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Davis and Reverend Kirbbie Cowart officiating. Interment will follow at the Luling City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, Gonzales.
