Langdon KARL Hutton

Langdon KARL Hutton passed away Feb. 16 in Luling, Texas. He was born Nov. 14, 1936 to Samuel Langdon and Dorothy Buhler Hutton in Houston, Texas. Karl is survived by his son, Michael Langdon Hutton of Harwood, Texas; his sister, Sharon Hutton White and husband Jim of Shreveport, Louisiana; his sister-in-law, Martha Flukinger and husband Kenneth of Harwood, Texas and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Laura Sue Smith Hutton; and his daughter, Lisa Dorann Hutton; his parents; his brother, Barry Ramon Hutton and his nephews, Barry Hutton Jr. and Quinn Mark Flukinger.

He married Sue on Feb. 1, 1958 in Houston, Texas. He served in the U.S. Air Force, retired from Sears Roebuck & Co., worked for ACR Supply Co. in  Austin and worked for Gonzales County in both employment and volunteer positions. He was a member of Harwood Methodist Church, Waelder Volunteer Fire Department and South Texas Emergency Network. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, emergency amateur radio services and helping in the community where needed. He and his wife had lived in Biloxi, Mississippi; Panama City, Florida; Houston, Texas; and Oak Ridge North near Conroe, then built and ran the Diamond H Campground near Coldsprings, Texas until he was transferred to Austin. Then they lived in Taylor until 2003 when they moved to Harwood, Texas.

A memorial service will be held March 16 at Harwood Methodist Church in Harwood, Texas at 11 a.m. Following the services there will be fellowship, memories, and food at his home “Gopher Hill.” In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Waelder Fire Department, (City of Waelder, P.O. Box 427, Waelder 78959-c/c Waelder Fire Department) or charity of your choice.
