Lady Cardinals win cross-country title for fourth consecutive year

WACO — Shiner St. Paul were named champions yet again, this time for the fourth consecutive year, as the Lady Cardinals outraced their opponents in the cross-country state meet on Saturday in Waco.

Led by senior Emma Morgan, who has run on all four championship teams, the team comprised of junior Elyssa Wagner (who won her third straight) finishing the race seventh, sophomore Bailey Blair finished 11^th in the race as she collected her second straight title, followed by freshman Macy Grabarkievtz who finished 13^th, Hope Kapavik finished 16^th (earning her second title), junior Ashley Wachsmuth placed 22^nd (earning her third) and sophomore Riley Johnson grabbed her second title with 25^th-place finish.

The St. Paul boys team took second place in the state meet, with Lane Jackson leading the way for the Cardinals, finishing ninth. Walker Jackson took 11^th, Nathan Wagner placed 18^th, Andrew Wagner finished 23^rd, Frank Benes placed 30^th, Jacob Darilek 34^th and Cole Brown at 68^th.
