Katie Marie Shellenberger

Posted

Katie Marie Shellenberger passed from her mother’s womb to the loving arms of Jesus on Thursday, Aug. 3. Katie is the creation of the love between Lance Shellenberger and Dawn Marie O’Donnell. Katie’s life in the womb of her mother was warm, nourishing and filled with love. Katie was a kicker and a frolicker as she was always very active, certain to remind her mommy that she was always there. She loved gummy worms, taffy, sweet tea and watermelon but was not at all fond of spicy food. Katie seemingly enjoyed kicking and spurring her mommy when she felt such was necessary. She was a tough little Texas baby girl and in keeping with her strengths it was befitting her name be Katie, after the strong independent character of Katie Elder in the movie “Sons of Katie Elder.” Lil’ Katie lived abundantly within her mother’s womb and lives even more abundantly in the arms of Jesus for we are assured in Luke 18:16 “But Jesus called the children to him and said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.’”

Katie is survived by her mom and dad, Dawn Marie O’Donnell and Lance M. Shellenberger, sister, Shelby Marie Roan all of Gonzales, brother, Landon Matthew Miller of Mifflin, PA, grandparents, Dave and Donna O’Donnell of Reedsville, PA, Kathy Wilson of Lewistown, PA, Arthur B. Shellenberger Jr., of Burnham, PA, great-grandparents, Glenda and Dave O’Donnell of Milroy, PA and Rodney Klinger of Aransas Pass.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2 in the Episcopal Church of the Messiah. Friends may sign the guestbook by visiting www.seydlerhillfuneralhomefuneralhome.com. Services are under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
